Hurricane Helene swept through Asheville, North Carolina beginning on September 26, 2024. Water flooded entire communities settled in the mountains 2,134 feet above sea level, a region usually not fearful of toppled trees, down power lines and depleted water supply. Join SPARK for their second time serving within the first year of the hurricane.

SPARK is in Puerto Rico for Serve & Rejuve. Spend a few days serving with SPARK and rejuvenating your spirit. Puerto Rico is an archipelago and we'll experience the northeast region of the island on the eastern coast known as the "Sun's Capital". We stay in Luquillo at the base of the El Yunque Rainforest, 30 minutes from San Juan. Lot's

Serve alongside us as we partner with Maria Jones, Spiritual Director and Dreamwork Facilitator, who is native to Puerto Rico and knows exactly where our gifts can best serve and for the ways in which we can be challenged to know more and love more.
SPARK does not coordinate travel to Puerto Rico. Lodging, meals and transportation in Puerto Rico, along with community engagement are all included in the participant fee. SPARK has worked to create an equitable experience for all.

SPARK and The Dwelling are in Puerto Rico. Youth and leaders will have an experience filled with seeing our neighbors for their uniqueness made in the image of Christ. This is a great opportunity to serve at a greater distance without needing a passport. The cost is $999 per participant. Registration is $500. One leader comes at no cost.

Some of the service projects that we work closely on are roofing, serving at a food pantry, island clean up, land work and we often paint! Lot's of relational work as we serve in hands-on ways. We do ask for group leaders to know that we may develop other projects as well.
We're excited about visiting the El Yunque Rainforest, Seven Seas and Bioluminescent Bay during our community engagement time with neighbors.
